Theme Thursday: Connections

Will be published Feb. 2013
Today I visited the place where connections are made. I waited an hour to be a part of the connection, but that hour went fast because I had Ruta Sepetys' new book "Out of the Easy" about the daughter of a prostitute struggling to escape the New Orleans under world. Although I'm not quite halfway finished, it's already proving to be as amazing as her first book, "Between Shades of Gray." I'm back to revise because of the constant comments about this post, that has nothing to do with the book "Fifty Shades of Gray." Ruta Sepetys did NOT write a sex book. She wrote a young adult historical novel "Between Shades of Gray" that also made the New York Times best seller list. It's about Stalin, not sexual bondage. Yes, I've made a connection with Ruta's book, but that's not the connection I was waiting for.

Finally they brought me into the back office and fitted me into a stunning blue dress. Then the fun began! I placed a part of my anatomy between two plastic plates and finally the two pieces connected with a flat me inside. Until next year...

What are you looking down here for? A picture of me in the machine? Dream on. This is not that kind of humor blog.

Those machines must have been designed by a man.

I am always looking forward to reading a good book. I'll have to see if my library has this one.

However, I have yet to make a connection with that machine and am dreading the day we are introduced.

It won't. Ruta's book will not be published until Feb. 2013. I have an ARC. You need to meet that machine. It's nothing to play with.

I hope all went well..enjoy the book :-)

When I recently had my mammo, they used a totally different machine. In fact, it was comfy and warm. Not shockingly cold and miserable like all the other ga-zillion times.

As for Fifty Shades, that's not my forte. But I will look for Ruta's book. I love a plot driven book not a sexually driven one.

LOL! Joyce, you certainly made me laugh on this Friday morning over here in Jamaica. Have a wonderful weekend.

Ruta did NOT write Fifty Shades of Gray! She wrote Between Shades of Gray. A delightful young adult novel about Stalin's atrocities during World War II.

Make that "gripping." Nothing was delightful about what this character had to endure.

WOW! Looking at your comment here I hope no YA readers mistake BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY for FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. . .

Love the humor with the photo. . .

LOL.... you make me laugh. I have several connections with the machine. Didn't enjoy any bit of it. :(

I hope you stay that way, Don. I've heard this test is a lot worse for men... especially for those who have hair on the chest. I understand a lot of men have had to get these. They sneak out the back door when finished!

I think I would rather have the warm and comfy one instead of the cold, gray one. I need to visit that atrocity but keep putting it off. I think the thought of one more thing wrong with me is just more than I can handle.

My youngest daughter is into those sexually driven shades of gray books and says I should read them too. I will have to see.

Thanks for sharing such a great connection with this weeks Theme Thursday.

God bless.

PS...I hope that people do know the difference between what Stalin did and what is a sexually driven shades of gray books. I think there should be no way to confuse the two of them but I guess I can see why some are. I hope they see your last comment on Theme Thursday to see the difference. Thank you so much for helping to clear that up, and reading all of the comments here does help too.

God bless again.
