#MM Celebrate Me

This week's theme for Monday Music Moves Me is to post a song of celebration and then one that describes ourselves. First up, let's celebrate. Stevie Wonder's Do I Do has always made me feel like celebrating.

And next up please enjoy a song that describes me. Those who have followed my blog for any length of time know I'm totally nuts.

Come join Music Monday and share your songs with us. Rules are simple. Leave ONLY the ACTUAL LINK POST here and grab the code below and place it at your blog entry. You can grab this code at LadyJava’s Lounge Please note these links are STRICTLY for Music Monday participants only. All others will be deleted without prejudice.

PS: Because of spamming purposes, the linky will be closed on Thursday of each week at midnight, Malaysian Time. Thank you!

The Ecstasy Game

Before attending an author's workshop, I had a homework assignment to brainstorm objects from my childhood home and then write a short passage about something on the list. Unfortunately, we ran out of time, and I didn't get to share my work; so, I'll share it here.

We gathered around the latest technology, a primitive desktop computer with a black screen and green writing. It perched upon the desk in my brother’s room in front of the wide bush-covered window. Eddie beamed at his creative genius garnered from his computer programming class. He invented multiple games to entertain with the latest technology to hit the 1970s.
X        The target of my affection in seventh grade was Tommy––a cute, brown-haired boy who barely knew I was alive. I typed his name, and it slid across the screen at a slow speed during the first round. With a tap of the finger, the space bar shot  X shaped kisses at him. When the kiss hit the target, the screen lit up with the word “Ecstasy” written multiple times. I’d clap and cheer because that was the closest I’d get to kissing Tommy. During each consecutive round, his name moved faster and became a tougher target to hit, but eventually, that X hit the spot.

Side note in case my FB friend Tom sees this: I know one of our old classmates may send you to this blog if you don’t see it on your own, so be it known that I haven’t crushed on you in forty years and now have my own brown-hairs man to kiss.
 Whew! Scared ya, didn't I?   X
