Songs With Numbers

It's Monday, which means time for "Musical Monday Moves Me." I've been moved from the Teachers Pay Teachers conference. I have strong NUMBERS of new bundles out, so here are songs with numbers . . . after all that is the theme.

When I think of songs with numbers, I immediately hum Three Dog Night's, "One is the Loneliest Number." This is true. It takes a community to raise a child and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the TpT seller's community last week!

It's fun to revisit the sixties. We used to call these people "long-haired hippy freaks," but actually, they are way cooler than the bands today! Also, I love seeing sexy young men with man buns.

When teaching fractions, one way to explain them to the kids is to call them broken numbers. Furthermore, the prefix "fract" means broken or cracked. If you break your arm, the doctors may refer to it as a "fracture." "Fracking" means getting oil or gas from a rock. I guess they must break stones to get something out of it. So why the talk about fractions? Because I just finished a new Fraction Bundle, and it is selling for 50% off, for today only!

And now, for a number song involving fractions.

When it comes to educational topics, you can find anything on Youtube. This may be a little off topic, but it is MY #1 favorite educational song from way back when, so it must pass. Here it is! Enjoy.

I knew there would be several people sharing the 3 Dog Night song so I refrained from doing so. You actually like man buns? Pop took an informal survey among the young women he works with and they all said no to man buns.

Fractions are fun but they don't work on calculators easily.
How about Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4?

I like the mixed number song, but you can multiply two mixed numbers without converting to improper fractions:

2 1/2 * 3 2/3 = (2+1/2) * (3+2/3) and do the FOIL thing...

Good set!

Joyce,

I'll take the long-haired guys from the 60s & 70s over the guys who look like Granny Clampett. :D Three Dogs Night "One" was a hard one to resist featuring but I sustained the urge. It doesn't change the fun I'm having listening to it multiple times this week so far. I love the classic! "Glocose Glucose" is a cleverly fun educational parody! Thanks for playing along this week. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

Man, I cannot believe that all my comments are not showing up!!! I know I commented on many yesterday, but I had to leave early yesterday for some very important tests on my back. So far we have found out I have three pinched nerves... BUMMER!!! Anyway, YOU HAVE ROCKED THE HOUSE ONCE AGAIN MY FRIEND! You always pick the tunes that I can boogie too, which I totally love, love, love! Your math parody is evidently over my head. Not sure I understand that one, but it is cute! BWAHAHAHAHA THAT GLUCOSE TUNE is just too funny! Well, at least I found it funny! bwahahaha... Sugar, sugar... played it for hubby & he just rolled his eyes! He has no humor... dingy dude sometimes.. I found it quite funny w! ~hehehe~ Thanks girlfriend & have a great week! hugs

Too much math for me but your numbers were right on!
Wished I was a flower child but born too late in the 60's!

I was (and still am) terrible and math, which held me back in science. But, in high school, I took a chemistry slanted food science course and we had an entire unit on the various sugars. I enjoyed "Glucose Glucose". And, as a Three Dog Night fan, "One". Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
