This week's six sentence writing prompt is Abstract and I'm linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories.
My sixth grade teacher blocked the doorway home until we repeated the sentence, "Energy is the ability to do work." Energy is as abstract a concept as one can get as we think about it charging through our brains, consuming 20% of the body's power as it allows us to interpret various stimuli. Yet this odd concept within us cannot be created or destroyed but merely changes form. If this is the case, what happens to the energy within our brains when we die? It cannot be destroyed, so according to scientists, the energy within our brains remains after death. Call us ghosts, spirits, or whatever you want, but the energy within our brains sticks around forever! Are you interested in ghosts? If so, check out this ghost story for middle school students. I wrote this story based upon my person experiences as a tour guide for Historical Haunts in Memphis. Although I've used AI for photos, I have NEVER used it in my writing! A very thoughtful contribution to the Six hop this week!
ReplyDeleteI like the technique used by your sixth grade teacher: students can't leave the room till they repeat the formula.
ReplyDeleteAn intriguing Six!
ReplyDeleteYou pose a very interesting question!
ReplyDeleteI have wondered about this, especially after I had a little problem with my brain last year!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if some of your classmates are still trapped in the classroom?
ReplyDeleteFunny to block the door. That makes it fun to the kids and they'll be more prone to remember the lesson too.
ReplyDeleteIt is fascinating to think that the energy within our brains could live on after our physical bodies are gone.
ReplyDeleteInteresting read, Joyce!
It is an age old question! It has to go somewhere, affect something or perhaps someone?!
ReplyDeleteBeen awhile, Joyce. Nice to read you at the Six!
Well, yes! Begs the question of where it goes and with whatwhom it commingles; that there is nothing makes no sense. And once released from the body, is it somehow lighter once freed from the body burden?
ReplyDeleteCool Six!
Wow. It's fascinating that the energy within our brains remains after death!
