A Night at the Ballpark

Last night, we took in a Red Birds game. There's nothing like sitting in the comfortable night air, listening to the crack of bat against ball. At one point, I ducked a rogue ball that slammed
the awning above me instead of striking my head. This one was not as close as the bullet (fast ball) that tore in between a friend and me while having a conversation in a party room years ago. Baseball games are dangerous.

The highlight of the evening took place at the food court. A stranger chased after a man, grabbed his arm, and said, "They'll let anyone in here."

After receiving a mortified look, the man said, "Oops. I thought you were Steve." Steve, I didn't know your reputation follows you all the way to the states.

  4. Glad you dodged that crazy ball. I think going to any sporting event in person is so much more fun than watching it on TV or hearing it on the radio. Sounds like you had a great time.

  5. Hahahaha, it cracks me up when stuff like that happens. It happened to my nana once. Someone snuck up behind her and gave her a big kiss on the cheek - only for him to realize she wasn't who he thought she was when she turned around.

  6. Ha! I agree. Baseball games are dangerous. Wanna catch a foul ball? Sit beside me.

  7. Baseball games can be dangerous, but I wouldn't miss going either. :)

Bullets in party rooms...those I advise avoiding at all costs. ;)

  9. My nephew is only 5 and can hit a ball so hard with a bat. He's going to be a great ball player.

  10. not so much baseball up here, but I have dodged hockey pucks before. that's scary. those slapshots come really fast.
Whoops! mistaken identity is the worst public faux pas. I hate it when you are waving madly at someone, calling their name...and...Nope. not them. hah
