Musical Weather

Tomorrow is the first day of school for the kids here in Memphis; however, the weather is hotter than ever with days in the upper nineties or breaking into triple digits. I'm back to work, but the air conditioning in my portable isn't. Men worked on it Friday, and I'm praying they'll be back, tomorrow. Luckily, my kids don't come to me just yet. I couldn't host them in my portable if they did.

I love summer vacation and would enjoy Sitting on the Dock of the Bay with Otis; however, no bays near me or lazy sitting days.

Since school is starting, the songs need to be educational, like this one made for a sixth grade class studying weather. Way to go!

And if I'm gonna play an educational song,
I've got to share my favorite one!

Any teachers out there? If so, I have a teachers' store bustling with lots of great products. For a good time with accountable talk, I'll recommend this one. Provided are SIX short stories with ten to fifteen statements aimed to start strong discussion within the class. Students must decide if the statements are true, false, or if they can't tell. How much can one assume from a vaguely written passage? It's fun to find out.

Pencil Sharpener

I just received a free pencil sharpener in exchange for my blog post about it, and I'm giving it a thumbs up.

http://www.classroomfriendlysupplies.com/

Not only is my sharpener a pretty red color, but more importantly, it does a good job sharpening my pencils. The pencil locks in place and gets a perfect point after I turn the crank. It's a winner. Plus, this wonderful company provides a poster on how to use their product.

Using my pencil sharpener was easy peasy.

And if it should malfunction,
there's even a page to advise one on what to do!

#MMMM Free

Between writing and posting this Musical blog post, I lost my charming and loving father-in-law. He is now free from his suffering and is with much of his family. Dad had not seen his own mother in 80 years. Last night, the lights blinked on the chandelier several times. I believe this was him letting us know that he is finally free.

This week, Xmas Dolly has given us ANOTHER freebie. So here's my post complete with songs about being free and a free logic problem, too. Even if you don't teach, download my problem and see if you can solve it; just for fun. But be careful. You might get hooked on these puzzles. I love them!

First up is Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'."

Next up is Roger Daltrey singing, "I'm Free."

And finally, here's YOUR freebie from Catch My Products!

So, Dolly? Is this what you meant by this week being a "Freebie"?

#WW My Logo

I finally decided on a logo for my Teachers Pay Teachers store.

Are you ready to see it?

                          It's new to my store.

                                             And the winner is . . .

What do you think?

#MM Back From the Conference

I arrived back in Memphis today after a wonderful TpT Conference in Orlando. I learned a lot and met great people, too. However, my store is now undergoing some serious revamping. Since I have a lot of work to do, here is a song to fit that theme.

First off, I changed my name from Gifted and Talented Materials by Joyce Lansky to Catch My Products. I've been wanting to change the name for a long time but was afraid I'd lose links to my items. They are secured. I also changed my photo, but I'm not totally happy with it, so it's still under construction.

I have been busy adding links from solo products to their bundles. For example, it would be great if someone bought this first day of school logic problem for $1. However, it would be better to buy a bundle of fifteen problems for $8.95. That's .25 a piece savings. I've had several customers come back and continually purchase $1 items. It's easier and cheaper to just buy a bundle.

Here's another Musical Monday work song, which fits since we went to Magic Kingdom after the conference ended. Wait an hour to see Winnie the Pooh, blink your eyes and then you're through.

My work is not done after links, either. I have to improve my product descriptions, make and download product previews with watermarks, and place products into custom categories for easy location. With 450 products, this will take me quite awhile! I also need to get going on collaboration and advertising. So it's almost Monday, and I'm back to work.

#MM Wordless Songs

Tomorrow, I'm leaving my husband in Memphis, with three vicious dogs, and heading to the Teacher's Pay Teachers Conference in Orlando. I am so excited to learn how to sell all of these products I've made. Although I do well, I believe I can do much better, so I'm off to network and get new tips!

Erica and I are taking a long car ride. Being in a car for a long time makes me think of wordless songs, so here are two great ones. First up is Jessica by The Allman Brothers Band. This song was sang on the road when Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones went to––or was it from––Iowa in Field of Dreams. Either way, I love listening to the instrumentals.

Next up is an amazing song by Edgar Winter called, "Frankenstein." Go figure. I'm not sure why it's called that but could probably spend my time googling it rather than packing. I think I'd better pack, so you can look it up and tell me, if you wish. Have a great week. I know I will!

#WW Happy 26th Birthday, Judy!

Today, June 21st, is my beautiful daughter's 26th birthday!

She's grown from a cute, little girl

To a beautiful woman.

I couldn't end my post, with out sharing Judy's love life.
Uh oh! She has two loves.

Mowgli has been her baby for three years.

And Alex, her boyfriend.

She met Alex for only one evening on a trip in Colorado when she was fifteen. Although they were smitten with each other, they went their separate ways without exchanging addresses, phone numbers, nor FB.

Fate brought them together ten years later.

Now, Mom has OFFICIALLY told EVERYONE their story, sorta.
