#AtoZ : Tattoos

My daughter and her friend got temporary tattoos.

I am thankful for two things:

(1) My daughter Erica is the girl on the right–no offense Lisa, but you look freaky.
(2) These are TEMPORARY tattoos.

Although I've never had a real tattoo, I have decorated my body with some made from henna. These will last most people two weeks or so. Mine are usually shorter because after a week, I scrub my skin raw to make them fade.

Here's a collection of weird ones I copied from the internet. This would have made a good Wordless Wednesday post–darn it–but with the multitude of pictures, I can always hold out for "Tattoo Two" one day.

If I were bald, I would so have to do this. Teehee.

Prison Gang Tattoo
Kimberly requested three stars on her face then fell asleep and woke up to this.

Yeah. It's pretty bad miscommunication, but would you lend your face to the tatoo artist below? Duh!

I have a ton of tattoos. :) But I'm lucky because my husband and most of my good friends are tattoo artists.

Holy crapanoly! I have two tattoos, the first of which was done on Mother's Day when I was 48. My daughter and I had matching ones done on the outer edges of our right feet. It still makes me smile every time I see it.

The thing hurt like hell in spots while it was being done. My son-in-law, the tattoo artist, took his time and was as gentle as possible. It still hurt. He joked with me that once someone gets a tattoo, they pretty much always come back for another. I assured him that I'd be the exception to that rule. Not only did I not really envision a second tat, but he and I were having that chat while he was causing firelike pain in my foot. He said that if I was able to handle the foot, anything else would be a piece of cake.

He turned out to be right. Last year, at 49 (and also on Mother's Day) I had him do a teeny heart on the back of my neck, visible only when I wear my hair up. I love that one too, and it didn't hurt at all.

I'm done now, though. Really.

WOW, some of those are scary! Glad your daughter's are temporary! I have never had the desire to get a tattoo and tend to wonder about those that cover themselves with them.

I have a few... on my ankles and feet... heh. There is another that I found online that was interesting... I wouldn't wear it, but I still found it very interesting.

Omigod, that first one is so flipping creepy. I get queasy just thinking about getting one. Period. *shudders*

Definitely some freaky tattoos there. It's probably just a trick of the photograph perspective, but the design on Lisa's nose (your daughter's friend,) kinda looks as if it's supposed to be no nose there, just a weird hole left by flesh-eating disease... eww! :D

the one with the stars on the face, I wonder if it really was not her fault

I'm also glad your daughter's are only temporary. She's too pretty to put anything other than a dab of makeup on her face. Julie

I bet your glad they were only temporary ones heheh!

Each to their own but I always wonder why someone would want to tattoo their faces like the ones below, that last one is horrendous LOL

Have a brilliant day :-)

Must admit I don't like tattoos at all, not even the nice discreet ones. I find the all-ver body tattoos positively grotesque.

It looks like the girls are having fun! The problem with tattoos is it seems one can never be enough. I don't have any, but a cousin of mine has some. She's now up to 14! I can't understand why such a pretty young girl would do that to herself. Oh, well! ;0)

While I appreciate the art involved in tats, I would also appreciate it on a canvas. I am not a tat fan and have never even thought maybe I might like one. I do admire some on other people but always wonder how sorry they might be at 65 or 90 when the cute flutterby above their breast is now decorating their wrinkled midsection. Just wondering...♥

That guy with the eyes on the back of his head would make a great teacher.
