#MM Journey with The Doobie Brothers

To celebrate our thirtieth wedding anniversary, Mitchell and I went to the FedEx Forum to see the Journey/Doobie Brothers concert. It started off with Dave Mason. This one song of his has been on my mind for the week. It makes me think of the election, too.

After Dave Mason, the Doobie Brothers took the stage. One of their songs sounded off, but for the most part, they are still wonderful.

The final act was Journey. They have a new lead singer who is a bundle of energy with a great voice. Unfortunately, their speakers were terrible! They blasted the music painfully loud with fuzzy distorted tones. The concert became torturous, so we left halfway through Journey, along with several hundred or a thousand other people.

I thought it sounded like a great anniversary until the end. Couldn't the sound crew hear the quality and fix it?

Joyce, sounds like an amazing concert to attend with all those fabulous retro groups. I'm not a concert goer, but I'd really like to see these acts in person. Thanks for sharing some mighty fine music this Memorial Day. Have an enjoyable and safe day with your family.

Too bad about journey. You would think they'd catch on and change quickly.

Glad you had a nice celebration of anniversary with your love though.

Thanks for the tunes.

30 years?! You GO! And Happy Anniversary! :) What a great way to celebrate your special anniversary (scurries off to make notes and plot for my 30th down the road...) :) Love the tunes, Joyce! Rockin' as usual! Thanks for the late dance! :)

Sounds like (aside from the super loud music) a great concert to attend for your anniversary! Love "China Grove"!

Fun story: the kids I watch love the song "Oh Sherrie" by Steve Perry, but they have no idea who Journey is! It definitely shocked me to learn that! (I blame the guitar hero type games.) :)
