#WW Happy 26th Birthday, Judy!

Today, June 21st, is my beautiful daughter's 26th birthday!

She's grown from a cute, little girl

To a beautiful woman.

I couldn't end my post, with out sharing Judy's love life.
Uh oh! She has two loves.

Mowgli has been her baby for three years.

And Alex, her boyfriend.

She met Alex for only one evening on a trip in Colorado when she was fifteen. Although they were smitten with each other, they went their separate ways without exchanging addresses, phone numbers, nor FB.

Fate brought them together ten years later.

Now, Mom has OFFICIALLY told EVERYONE their story, sorta.

#MM Music Memes

Since as long as I can remember, I've had a habit of breaking into song whenever someone says something that reminds me of a specific tune. Ironically, my sisters do this, too. Apparently we aren't the only ones because I found a meme about this habit. It is so me.

So now you know, my freebie post this week is about music memes.

First up is a Harry Potter twist to a fun song.

Gotye singing Somebody That I Used to Know WITH SPANISH Subtitles.
I didn't really want the Spanish subtitles,
but it's the only original track I could find.

Next up is my grammar coming to view. Whether I'm teaching or off, I still like people to use commas just right.

This makes perfect sense as to how Boy George came up with these lyrics.

Finally, here's a funny cartoon about a great songs. Any dead heads out there?

Casey Jones sung live by the Grateful Dead . . .
although one has to wonder why anyone dead would be grateful.

Enriching Children While Using the Dictionary

Let's face it. Even though kids may be gifted or quite bright, there are basic skills that they do not do well, such as using the dictionary. As a result, I created these power points with higher level questioning in an attempt to even make a basic skill enriching.

This is important as a gifted and talented teacher because when I wrote these, I was expecting a "drop in" evaluation, and I better be enriching these kids in everything I do. So, this power point uses the gradual release method to teach kids to use guide words. Plus, it follows the animal unit we were doing. It also contains standards, connections to past learning, tell your neighbor prompts, and all of the other expectations should one be evaluated while using this lesson.

Plus, my creation includes colorful pages and clip art designs. I would appreciate your purchase and feedback for these products from Gifted and Talented Materials by Joyce Lansky.

#MM Opposites Attract

Interesting theme this week! I need to come up with songs about opposite topics. This one takes a little bit of thought, but here goes.

First Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mack lets the "Landslide" bring you down.

Next, Lionel Richie from The Commodores know a "Lady You Brings Me Up."

Since I've brought you down and up, there's one last way to send you. This one is miles from my usual post, but I know someone will enjoy Eddie Rabbit sending you "Any Which Way But Loose."
