Should one be blamed for one's thoughts?
Yesterday, I had a thought that was less than nice, but in my situation you'd
probably be thinking the same thing.
See that little clock on the right? It's
counting down the days left until summer vacation. Furthermore, the lower that
number gets the wilder the kids become, which is bad news for us teachers. If you're a
teacher, have you ever noticed how the "bad" kids are never absent?
Perfect attendance means you have to put up with their crap every day . . . and
it gets tiring at the end of the school year.
The other day, I
greeted a little boy with a, "Good morning" and then thought, Dang. Isn't that kid ever absent? Apparently, I have some powerful
thoughts because sometime between seeing him in the morning and the time my
class started, he was in the office going home sick. Needless to say, I had one
of the most delightful classes of the year, especially with his buddy getting
sick and going home, too. What’s going around must be highly contagious.
Should I feel guilty, like I jinxed them? I’m
such a bad person!
