Musical Monday: Brandon Walker

I eat Chinese food on Christmas and go to the movie theater, too; because there ain't much else to do on Christmas, when you're a Jew.

I hope you don't sneak your snacks/drinks in like they did, lol!!! Though the cost of concessions at the theater IS ridiculous.

Interesting song. I liked the premise, but I found the first minute almost sad, which I didn't like so much. The extra day off, family, Chinese food, movies - nothing sad there. Either way, perfect pick for your bloghop :)

No. We don't sneak food into movie theaters or stop to pick up dimes on the road. I know they were having fun with some of the stereotypes, but they really are ridiculous and untrue.

I've never heard this song. Thanks for sharing.

For a few years I struggled with what to do with my holiday cards. I work with a dear friend that is Jewish. I said, "I try not making it so Christmas(y) for you." She told me that she loves watching Christmas movies. She of course doesn't celebrate the holiday. She told me to do what I want with my cards. Even though they are Christmas(y) she puts them on her fridge.

Well, you know what? We eat Chinese on Christmas Eve. So it's no big deal. Besides don't you get like 7 or 8 days at Hanuka and presents each day? So that's cool! Thanks for joining us anyway and love the song pick. Thanks for sharing!

Well, I do not eat Chinese food on Christmas but I do go to the movies! :)

Funny! :) I had a Jewish client once who put a non-Christmas-y type of wreath on her front door at the beginning of December. Said she did it in self-defence, to keep up with the neighbourhood. ;)
Happy Music Monday to you. Hope you had a nice Hanukkah.

LOL - there are some of us Catholics who eat Chinese & go to the movies on Christmas, too ;)

Hey, there's nothing wrong with sneaking in your snacks into the theater! It's been like forever since we've been to the theater (22 years). It was expensive then and the cost of snacks at the concession stand just made the outing for the two of us too costly, so we always took a candy bar or two with us to munch on. Your music video made me smile. Thanks for sharing! ;)

I didn't even know that was a stereotype. How sad that it is!! I'd certainly not say anything intentionally that would stereotype anyone. Hope I didn't offend, I like you & your blog tons and would never want to inadvertently offend you! :)

I didn't think twice about your comment being aimed at me. It's the whole cheap thing. Yet, Jews are very generous donors to a lot of causes.

I must admit I sneak food in all the time lol

There is a sign making its way around fb about the restaurant assn thanking the Jewish religion for making eating Chinese food on Christian holidays a tradition.

Nothing wrong with using your day as your want :)

Interesting song.

Oh and next time, I'm sneaking food in! If we ever get to go!

Have a great week :)

Maybe you could just have a Chinese themed party with fortune cookies and a few Chinese dishes just a have some fun with it.

Have a Happy Monday no matter what you!

I sneak my food in too! And if we didn't have to go to the in-laws, we would totally have Chinese food on Christmas. It's our favorite!

I always sneak a water bottle into the theatre. Not that I go very often…

I LOVE Chinese food and I would eat it anytime! Christmas or not. HA.
And I definitely plan on seeing the Hobbit 2nd movie over Christmas - although not on Christmas day.

I say everyone make your traditions what you enjoy. that's the point: spread joy.

Whew. :)
People can be ridiculous w/the stereotyping. I've had it happen in my family too.

Catch My Words said...

True, Rosey. But when one is a member of the group being stereotyped, one can get away with it in a funny video. I just wish he hadn't because some people don't understand what he's doing.
