#MMMM Two Songs in Sign Language

When I was in college, I majored in Speech Pathology and Audiology. I actually took a sign language course and consider it another language that I partially speak. My friend and I used to love walking through campus signing to each other. It was worth it for the funny looks.

As I searched for songs with signs, this was the first one to come up. I like it. I'll bet others do too. I'm going to post it and pay attention to my visits. Kathy and I never could sign this quickly or understand something that fast, either.

Here's another good one that I dance Zumba to.

Have a great week!

A couple of good choices here! A lot of times, the signer is just improvising (even I can tell, and I don't speak ASL), but not in these cases.

Joyce,

"Shut Up and Dance" in sign is a first for me to see here today. I felt a bit at a loss with the theme and wasn't nearly as clever at coming with some good song choices. That's cool you took a sign language course in college. I would've liked to learn how years ago but now I just admire those who can do it. Thanks for the boogie!

So you speak some other languages as well?

Signing to each other was good practice too. :)

Love your choices... there's a lot of duplicates today! As Cat said the Shut Up & Dance.. was a first.. so that's cool. That was a great and wow you know other languages too plus you took sign? That's so cool. At least if you ran into someone you can communicate. I remember they use to hand out these little pamphlets that had sign language on it when I was little and I tried so hard to learn, but memory still isn't any good. Sheesh! Have a rockin' week my friend! Great job!

Fight Song is on my play list. It is really powerful with the sign language. Cool find.

Watching the various videos for this theme is really making me wish I knew ASL. I try to associate signs with words and it is just so hard - I enjoyed "Shut Up and Dance" it's one I had to crank the volume on instead of trying to experience the video without the sound, as I've been doing with songs I already know. Shut Up and Dance is a great song. It's new to me and I'm really liking it!
Very cool that you know ASL and took a course in college. Do you still know it? I took a speed-reading course in college and I still use it, particularly the retentions skills I learned from it.

I took a Zumba class...Once! I was told that the instructor, who was subbing for the regular instructor, was doing advanced stuff and maybe I should've given it another try when the regular gal got back. But my ankle was a mess back then too (still is, except now I've had surgery on it) and there was way too much ankle work involved. I love to dance and have been dancing all my life but Zumbe just wasn't for me...
I can see this being a good song for it though...

Enjoy your Sunday,
