Distance Learning & TpT Sale Starts Tomorrow!

This morning, I listened to my daughter teach her third grade religious school class through the computer. The kids sounded cute with their little voices, and I saw that she really is a good teacher. At one point, I started recording her on my phone, but she saw me and got angry. Another stressor of this distance teaching is not only is Mom listening in, but she had the administrator pop by, too. None-the-less, I am happy that she is still getting paid her full amount, even though school was closed for several weeks, and she is only teaching half hour classes with half of the kids, present.

Now, this is not "real" school, so I'm not surprised that not everyone showed up. I have to ask, how is attendance for a "normal" remote learning session? Do the kids show up?

I always told my students that the best thing they can do is read, read, read. I also recently learned that Scholastic has loosened their copyright so that teachers are now allowed to read books to their class online. If you decide to do this, I have a lot of book studies for sale. Link to Book Studies A lot of teachers have been buying these, probably because they are on PowerPoint, so they are easy to use in class.

Good luck with remote teaching! Also, to help you out, TpT is having a sitewide sale starting at midnight. My entire store will be on sale for 20% off, and you can get an additional 5% off by using the promo code: ForYou

Joyce,

The good thing about today is many jobs can be done from home remote computers. I guess it's hard to monitor (no pun intended) who's actually in your class but I'd say if assignments are posted and the kids are turning in their work then that's the best the thing a teacher can hope for right now. Hopefully no one is cheating the system but if they are then it'll come back to bite them later on at some point.

Your quarantine parodies made me smile. Folks have a lot of time on their hands to get creative and that's okay. That's an exercise of the brain in a good way, too. Oh yeah, happy birthday to your son! Yeah, he's getting old. lol Our oldest daughter will be 32 in June. I don't know what happened to the years, do you? I mean, one minute she was tot and now she has a tot of her own. :)

Thanks for hitting the 4M dance floor with us. Stay safe and sound in Memphis. Sending love, hugs, & prayers your way, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

It must be rather challenging for all involved to teach and to learn online like that.

My respect for teachers is off the charts now, dealing with teaching online.

Wishing many happy returns of the day to your son!

Too much time on everyone's hands! I will have to remember the Quarantine song for Q day on the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. Both my spouse and son had "corona birthdays" this year. Stay safe!
