My humorous thoughts about life.
"My Humorous and Helpful Thoughts About Teaching / Educational Resources for Your
Classroom / Music and Random Fun"
A week ago Thursday, my husband, son, mother-in-law and I went to see the sold out production of South Pacific at Theatre Memphis. The show was so good that I volunteered to be an usher and went again last Thursday! I had worked the set for this musical when we put it on in high school so have just about memorized the words to all of the songs. After all, I heard my classmates rehearse daily. I love the spunk of Bloody Mary and Billis, and the Leutellant of this cast really was a saxxy man. I've also watched and rewatched the movie with Mitzi Gainer. So sit back and venture off to the South Pacific.
Next up is the song I've had stuck in my head all weekend.
And Mandy Patinkin sings it so well.
South Pacific has so many lively songs. Check this one out.
Here's another fun one.
And although I'm normally not one to post more than three songs,
I have to post this favorite of mine before I go.
Oh, heck. One more. I love this song, too, but it's certainly not the last song I love from South Pacific. Just the last one I'm posting.
Back when I started on TpT in 2013, there was a lot I didn't know about product design. Although I have posted 574 products, which is more than anyone in the state of Tennessee, many of my products are still lacking the basics . . . a cover, copyright, or links to other products. As a result, I've been working feverishly all summer to get these products revised. I'm down to my last 25 or so. This is huge compared to where I started! Plus, when I say "revised," I'm just talking about clothing the naked products. There are many old products with covers that still need work. I retired from teaching about a month ago, yet see myself with a full work load ahead. Check out a small sampling of my newest creations and/ or revisions since school let out. Also, please stop by.
If you are not already a follower, I'd love it if you'd sign on board. You will become privy to information about sales, contests, and/or new products. Plus, I offer 50% off of new items for the first day!
Musical Monday is all about songs with places in their titles. I would love to travel to these places this summer, but whoa is me, I'm not going to any beaches or mountains.
This song is in honor of my daughter Erica who is spending a good part of her summer in the Colorado Rockies. I wish I could join her!
In honor of Erica, I will also feature her beautiful clipart. She is quite talented and even bakes adorable and delicious cakes. Here's the one she made for Cinco De Mayo. If anyone lives in Atlanta, she will be moving there and needs some buyers for her cakes.
I know I've posted this video before but when the topic is "Sibling's Day", there is none better. I am fortunate enough to have one big bother and two older sisters. My family is so cool that I couldn't help but follow them wherever they went. I remember this song coming on the radio while my sister gave me dirty looks. Too bad. She's stuck with me! Here is Sweet.
I followed my sister so much, that I even attended DEPO, which was the high school dance! I remember one of her guy friends getting on his knees to dance with me. I'm not sure what song we danced to, but DEPO always makes me think of Peter Frampton, so here he is. On another note, one of my son's friends is a neighbor of Frampton's, in Nashville. Old man Frampton has lost his beautiful long hair, but he still is a legacy, at least in my mind! I love the Moog Synthesizer.
Happy birthday to Mary's brother!
My oldest sister also has a June birthday.
She will be XX on June 18th.
Hint: She's six and a half years older than me,
so DANG, she's old.
Happy Birthday, Barbie!
Do you need a way to keep little siblings happy so that they don't tag after the big ones all summer long? If so, Catch My Products!

Also, since it's time for Monday Music Moves Me, here's a song. This is the opening to one of my favorite movies about a contest. If you haven't seen Rat Race, you MUST check it out!
First up, from the wild and turbulent 1968, comes a Beatles song that tells it all, Helter Skelter.
"I've got blisters on my fingers!"
Next up are the Rolling Stones. I had a tough time choosing one song because Mick Jagger was and is that good. He was so young in the sixties, but in 2017, he still has the moves!
As I watch the concert game spin across Facebook, I thought about adding this band at the bottom of my list of those I've seen in concert to see if the young people even know they're a band--that I haven't had the pleasure of seeing.
Guess Who?
Okay. I cheated a little with that one. Although the band has some good songs from the 60s, I wanted this one, which was released in 1970. Back in college, I went to a bar where they had just finished playing American Woman. A foreign looking man with his shirt unbuttoned and huge gold bling hanging around his neck approached me with his arms spread out and his hips shaking. He sang, "Amereecan Wooman." All I could do was sing, "Get away from me."
I am just beside myself thrilled with all of the chances you have to win money to spend at Teachers Pay Teachers. Check out this additional contest that I'm helping to sponsor! There is a lot of money to be won.
