Theme Thursday: Confusing

Unplugged
Maybe I shouldn't admit my Beverly Hillbillies moment. After all, everyone occasionally hears odd beeps or settling in a home. Sometimes these noises can get downright annoying such as the weather radio, that I simply unplug when it buzzes nonstop. Okay, okay, I heard the beeping signaling a storm coming. Now shut up already! My husband gets aggravated at me for unplugging the thing, but at least I'm not running outside with my camera, like someone else I know.

Sometimes we hear a shuffling sound in the walls. It's those stupid squirrels who moved into our attic. They don't even pay rent!

Anyone want to buy a squirrel?

The thing about weather radios and squirrels is they aren't confusing. After all, I know exactly what makes them disturb the peace. Confusing was that occasional beep coming somewhere from the kitchen. Every now and then, I'd hear it and wonder. Finally, I made a comment to my husband, "What is that?"

Mitchell laughed and laughed. It was my new phone. It meant I'd gotten a text message.

Well gahlly! How is ah supposin' to know that?
I tain't never had no smart gizmo befores.

It takes several episodes for Jed and company to figure out where "thet music is a-comin' from" whenever somebody rings their doorbell.

My hubby doesn't even HEAR some of those beeping noises...like his non-smart phone that beeps for waiting messages/texts. Sigh...

That's alright, Elly May. Just take a nice dip in the cement pond and you'll feel right as rain.

Hmm. Never thought to have a weather radio. But being in New York all my life, we weren't plagued with things we are now. Like tornadoes going through Staten Island! Hail storms! Maybe I should get one.

I think we all have too many beeping, buzzing, ringing, and vibrating gadgets, all tho, admittedly, some can be helpful - but are they really necessary? and yes, I'd love a squirrel, but I want him house-trained!

I'm being stubborn and refusing to upgrade my phone to a smart phone. Mostly because I know I'll crack the screen. Secondly, why does everything have to be so complicated?

I haven't upgraded my phone, so those beeps would sure be confusing to me too. Heck, I'm still trying to adjust to the alarm clock beep :)

When the squirrels start beeping, then you've really got something to worry about.

I listened to a beep for about a month and couldn't locate it. Finally I asked my roomy if he ever heard it. He said he didn't think so, but he'd try to pay attention and see if he could find it. Just let him know when I heard it. The next time I heard it I was just starting down the stairs and it only beeped one time. I just kept walking, knowing I wouldn't find it with one beep. As I hit the bottom step, another beep. Four or five steps and a louder beep. I kept following and located a smoke alarm that I had completely forgotten I even had and had not changed the battery for probably 2 years. I never told him.

I laughed and laughed at the Video! It fit into the flow of your piece for a great Hillbilly moment. Fine Collage!

Dang blogger, I swear I left a comment here and who knows where it went, although blogger keeps freezing up on my laptop, so I am on another device and still messing up. Anyway I said I loved the video and I cannot remember ever seeing that movie but I think I will watch it if I ever get the chance. I can set the timer on the microwave, be sitting within 15 feet of it, it will go off, start beeping and I will never hear it. I don't know if it is device overload or we are just so into something else and we are so into whatever we are doing at that moment.

I think this was a great confusion post to share with this weeks confusing Theme Thursday.

God bless.

Thoroughly enjoyed! So nice to meet others like myself....as to the squirrels, don't bother with the moth balls (you'll find on line that is a suggestion for getting rid of squirrels) Ours just moved the moth balls around for decor effect! And then for about two years our whole house stunk during the really hot weather!!! I hate it when varmints get the upper hand!
