#AtoZ: C - Campus Book Rental & College Joke

Having put two kids through college and a third currently away, rising school costs are akin to sticking a vacuum hose into a wallet and sucking money out. As a result, I'm always looking for ways to make and save money. Voila! Here is an idea for the student studying french or event management, like my kid.

CampusBookRentals.com provides students with the opportunity to save 40-90% off book store prices. They provide free shipping, both ways, allow kids to highlight in books, are flexible about renting periods, and donate to Operation Smile. You can learn more about CampusBookRentals.com by clicking the video below.

Also, check out their rent back program. This new initiative allows students to rent back books they own. A kid could earn two to four times more money than what they'd make through other buyout options.

Finally, here's a college joke in keeping with the spirit of my humor blog:

A linguistics professor was lecturing to his English class one day. "In English," he said, "A double negative forms a positive. In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."

A voice from the back of the room piped up, "Yeah, right."

Hahah! Good one and I liked the tips about renting books as a mom about to have two sons in college and uni very soon.

In India, we have certain stores that allow us to buy textbooks (new or used) from them and get paid when we return them. So we get to use the books for a very nominal sum.
Loved the joke!

The rental programme sounds like a good idea, not sure if there's anything similar here in England.

Books can be quite expensive! I'm glad you found something that works for you. I love the joke at the end...

Nice! Chegg is a pretty good website for books too. Renting books is a great option too. We are currently doing both for two of my college boys. Nice ending to our post! :D

I remember the nightmare of textbook buying, both the long lines at the college store and the amount of money paid. I'm glad there are more alternatives today.

Hahaha, I actually laughed out loud at that joke. Love your blog and can't wait to read more!

Yeah right, love the joke.

I am shocked at private HS prices, I am scared of Uni.

Ha, that joke is told in Scotland as 'aye, right', nice one. I remember your pain but thank goodness for me the college stuff is over now - until the arrival of the next generation, anyway. Then like Kimberly it will be a case of saving from day one :)

That's one of the best jokes I have heard in a while.
As for the rent back program, I'm really glad that it exists. I like to keep my textbooks, though.
