Ghost Stories: The Plaid Shirt

This week's theme for The Writer's Post Thursday Blog Hop #85 is Ghost Stories. You may post about any weird or fun adventure that you or a friend experienced. Or if you'd like, make one up. When finished, please link your post back here at Catch My Words and link up on the Writer's Post Facebook page. Happy haunting!

After back surgery, the simple act of rolling over was a painful feat. However a ghostly friend chose to help. As I faced sideways, an image
of an almost bald man, with a pleasant smile and a red plaid shirt, floated next to my bed. Without moving his lips, he asked me if I wanted to roll over. I telepathically told him, "Yes." He then floated downward until he disappeared. Once he was gone, I easily rolled to my other side.

The next day, I told my sister about my ghostly visitor. She too had seen this dude in her room one night. Doo doo doo. Was I dreaming? Maybe, but how did I easily turn over? Why had my sister seen the same man? Perhaps he was a ghost from a past life we shared or maybe I'm just crazy.

My sister-in-law and I both saw the same weird figure in the same place, at the same house, many years ago (and with a big stretch of time in between when she saw it and when I did). Very strange. We don't tell people because I'm sure they'd think we were crazy. Well, we are, but that's totally besides the point. :) Our 'thing' didn't feel like it was nice like yours though.

When my oldest daughter was a about 3 she came and told me some crazy story that her imaginary friend told her. What's your friends name? I asked. "Gino. He tells me a lot of stuff." I was like WTF? That was my grandpa's name. I never met him, never talked about him, and for her to come up with that name out of the blue was freaky!

Strange. There's likely more to reality than we generally assume.

I've never experienced anything myself, but I believe it's possible. There were ghost tours in Savannah, GA. I lived there a few years.

I'm like Alissa--never experienced anything myself, but I want to...I tried really hard when I was researching in Vicksburg, and I would love to just get a little visit from my Grandma--I miss her so much. Of course, I also want her to be enjoying baking cookies and gardening in Heaven, too. Anyway, I have a friend who has had an experience like this with a man who was her guardian angel. Too many stories by real people to ignore. :)
