Theme Thursday: Destinations

Mowgli's destination
was clearly with us.

A lady waited for suckers at the entrance to the dog park with her cage full of five week old black lab/blue heeler puppies.

"Free puppies," she said.

My daughter has wanted a puppy for a long time, so we sent her the following text messages. The rest is history.

My youngest called the puppy lady. She had just left the park but was already turning around to come back. Her daughter got out of the truck, handed Erica the dog of choice, and drove off before we could change our minds.

Judy is moving to Michigan and has not yet found a place to live. Several places do not allow animals, but that's a minor detail, isn't it?

I admit, getting her this dog was a cruel stunt. At seven weeks, he's only about 90% house broken. He just knows how to sit and shake on command, although he's almost mastered the stay and come here commands.

Plus, he's not even cute.

My poor poodle was so matted, he had to be shaved yesterday by the groomer -- even his ears! Talk about not cute... but this little guy looks cute to me! Though I admit, she may be in a pickle as to apartment living; even if she finds a place she has to leave the dog alone all day while at work? Yup You might just have a new baby on your hands...

Are his eyes blue?

Yep. They are blue. He looks mostly like his lab daddy but has his mama's blue heeler eyes.

He's adorable and according to my folks, dogs and kids are like boomerangs, the farther you throw them, the harder they hit the house when they return. Have fun

Puppies know how to do that to people!

I think this very ugly puppy is going to get totally attached to you and you are probably getting attached to him with all those hours spent training him. Geez if everyone could get an ugly puppy like that then there would be no homeless dogs. He is just too cute and has such beautiful blue eyes. Your daughter is very lucky that you are training him for her. He should make a good companion for her and keep her safe.

Thanks for sharing such a funny story with us for this weeks Theme Thursday. I hope you and the puppy have a week filled with many happy destinations.

God bless.
